Mathilde pursed her lips together, but didn’t resist him when he took the sack of flour away from her. Hands falling to her sides, she sighed and shook her head, “I have managed more when you are away on the lake.                 A frown and a deep sigh came as answer while Bard was putting the sack away in the kitchen. He returned to Mathilde after, briefly resting his hands on her waist before framing her face. “You are my life’s breath, Mathilde,” he spoke, his voice quiet and low. “You, Bain, Sigrid, and the little one on the way. Of course I worry. And I do not wish for you to go silent, I simply want you to be a little more careful. Especially when I am away on the lake for hours on end. That is all.”
